This video shows how we do a setup for one of our straighten and cut (S&C) machines. This particular machine is one of our medium to large machines and can S&C wire from .240" - .150" in diameter, from 4" to 30' in length. We pass the wire from a large coil thru some drive pulleys and into a rotary arbor which rotates and straightens the wire. There are a lot of adjustments that are required on this arbor and technical expertise and experience are very important. In this particular case, we are S&C .219 Music Wire, 12'. The Technician cuts the first piece, or first article and checks it for straightness. Based on this first piece, the Technician may make additional adjustments.
